Useful is better than clever

Micro SD cards are great. I’ve got just enough of them to lose track of what is on them and occasionally find one and think to myself ‘I wonder what is on that little fella’. This forgetfulness is predictable and has no upside, unlike the role that the forgetful squirrels are responsible for reforestation (tenous link, good story)

One of the primary uses we have for SD cards is to house the operating system on single board computers. This lets you have a suite of SD cards with a variety of flavours of computer on them. Swap the SD card and you’ve got a whole different machine.

With that scenario in mind and a brand new Pi 500 and Pi Monitor sat on our desk, we decided to make a little 3D printable drawer that would contain a triumverate of cards that cover all the bases that you use your computer for. Here’s a video with the how and the why of what we did.

We’ve shared the printable stl files here. If you print one and make any improvements, we’d love to see them.
